Ian Mathaiya
Software designer and engineer
I’m currently designing and building Koffi, an app that lets me organize my work in the
simplest way possible.
Previously, I was working on the product team at Astro.
Atm, my current obsession is crafting interactive chat interfaces that make working with AI more delightful instead of dealing with humongous walls of text.

Koffi combines your tasks, calendar, and projects into a clear and simple interface. I made it mostly because I was tired of losing focusing while juggling multiple apps and existing productivity apps either felt too complex or dated. Koffi is already being used by professionals working at Lovable, Figma, and The Verge.

While working at Astro, we built Marlo, an intelligent email client for busy founders. Marlo was meant to cut through high-volume inboxes, prioritize urgent messages, highlight the day's most important threads, and move that work into tools like Linear and GitHub. The result is a calmer inbox that keeps urgent work moving. We ended up open-sourcing it a few months before Cloudflare acquired Astro.

As part of Astro’s Core Team (In Residency), I redesign Astro's landing page and crafted custom design assets for launch week 5, 6, and 7. By designing captivating and scroll-stopping visuals most of these launches went viral. As a result, Astro grew from 1 million monthly downloads in April 2024 to 3.2 million monthly downloads by September 2025.
